My Book Year in 2014!

So can you believe 2014 is literally over?! It seems like yesterday I was still so oblivious to things like BookTube and book bloggers.

So much has changed since the beginning of 2014. I have changed, the world has changed, it’s funny how we enter a year and come out person that has changed in some way.

Personally my year in 2014 has been more of a very changy year. I have gained some interests in things I was surprised I had interest in. But since this is a book blog, i’m going to talk about my book year!

So this year I read a total of…79 books.

I also completed my Goodreads challenge of reading 70 books in the year of 2014, which isn’t horrible but it’s satisfactory. This number just sets my goal for next year’s challenge. This year lot’s of great series ended and lot’s of great books were published this year.

Here is all the books I read in 2014.

Book Events I Attended this Year

This year I met Keira Cass and Marie Lu. Kiera the first author I ever met and I must admit…I was pretty nervous. I had never met any one that was very book related so it was a first. I definitely had a good time and really enjoy attending book events.

What to look forward to next year!

Well there are the releases of some beautiful books and ending to some more beautiful series. Then there is some book events that may be going on. Blogging wise, I am moving platforms again in February which has been going well so far so watch out for that. I’m hoping to read a lot more books next year because this year was pretty cruddy when it came to the amount of books I read this year. I also hope I can interact with more bloggers next year and grow more on this blog. I hope you guys enjoyed the 6 months I was here in 2014 and I am so excited to be blogging for a full year. Of course, this blog will only be here for about a month in 2015 but I am so excited to be using blogger because it does help me express myself through the appearance and layout on the blog whereas WordPress I can only customize my header and background. Also, I may be part of another book blog that will be releasing somewhere in 2015 with some of my friends! Thanks for reading and I hope you guys had a great 2014 and I can’t wait to see what is in stored for 2015!

More 2015 Reading Challenges!

I have more reading challenges that I am going to do! If you didn’t see I already said I was doing these 2 challenges and I have some more to add to them! So let’s get to it! c:

DAC2015Big

This is basically a challenge where you read books by debut authors that are published on 2015! I am going for the bare minimum goal of 12. I don’t know if I can beat that goal because I try not to buy too many books on a yearly basis so I don’t know if I will be able to get those 12 books.

This is my TBR!

This is a challenge where you set a goal on contemporary books you want to read in 2015! Since I am a book contemporary fan I hope I can surpass my goal within the year. I am going to try to read 12 contemporaries this year which is the Peony rank.

Here is my TBR!

tealdivider

This reading challenge is basically where you clear out some books on your TBR and the thing about this challenge is that you can only read books that are basically published before 2015. If you haven’t seen, my TBR list is huuuuge. I am going for the “First Kiss” rank, which is 21-30 books off my TBR.

Here is my whole TBR!

Dive Into Diversity Reading Challenge

This reading challenge is basically to get you to read more diverse books and i’ve only read a couple. I am hoping to fix this within this year because diverse books are probably one of the things I like most about reading and books. Next year I want to read at least 7 diverse books.

My TBR!

tealdivider This challenge is to read a certain amount of fantasy novels within 2015. Now I am definitely not a big fantasy reader and I hope to fix that with this challenge. I read a few fantasy books this year and based on these books alone, I definitely have a rough relationship when it comes to fantasy literature. I want to read at least 10 fantasy books next year.

This is my TBR!

What challenges will you be doing next year?

An Excisioner—a practitioner of dark, flesh magic—invades the cottage and rips Thane’s heart from his chest. More Page Monday: Blood of Olympus by: Rick Riordan

More Pages Monday is a meme created by Kaitlin at Next Page Please! where you tell about a book you wanted more pages to. It could be a better or longer epilogue. A longer/better ending or just you felt like something is missing. Explain why and maybe give us a little blurb of these extra pages if you were to write it and what would happen at these extra pages. If you want more a challenge then try to include spoilers…but good luck with that. 😉

Book that needs more pages too…

The Blood of Olympus

Author: Rick Riordan

Pages: 516

Publisher: Disney-Hyperion

Published on: October 7th 2014

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it “might” be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.
